National Initiative for Civic Education

The National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) was established in 1999, in 2012 NICE become a Public Trust incorporated under the Public Trustees Act 1968. The overall objective of NICE as an independent and autonomous Trust is to contribute towards strengthening and deepening of democratic process and improved governance in Malawi for accelerated economic growth and poverty reduction.

NICE is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following existing vacant position.

POSITION: ICT TECHNICIAN
Job Title : ICT Technician
Grade : NC5
Reporting to: Human Resource and Administration Officer
Location : NICE Secretariat, Lilongwe.
Responsible for : None

Purpose of the Job

To install, maintain and monitor performance ICT systems and equipment for efficient and effective operations of the Trust.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Providing user support and training to staff to ensure proper utilization of ICT equipment.
  2. Carrying out installation and configuration of ICT equipment, systems and applications
  3. Monitoring and maintaining ICT equipment, systems, applications.
  4. Recommending to management on outsourcing of ICT services and supervising the providers
  5. Providing advice on ICT related matters
  6. Taking necessary actions to resolve network issues.
  7. Managing ICT system programs, Local Area Networks, and projects
  8. Providing relevant data security and backup systems
  9. Preparing ICT reports

Minimum Education Qualifications and Experience

  1. Diploma in ICT/Computer Sciences or related field from a recognized training institution
  2. 3 years relevant work experience
