Job Description

Main Purpose of the Position:

To develop and deliver people management strategies that supports the overall strategic aims and objectives of the organisation. To function at a strategic and operational level when recommending appropriate human resources management solutions and providing a customer-focused HR services. To provide expert professional advice and support to managers & staff on all aspects of people management

Required Education & Experience:

  • Relevant diploma or degree in Human Resources Management / Industrial Psychology
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Resources Management
  • Knoledge of Microsoft Office suite

Key Performance Areas:

  • Actively build relationships and network line management through communicating appropriately and proactively providing solutions to address business needs relating to people.
  • Work to align HR objectives with business strategy.
  • Identify, design and implement strategic HR projects (as and when required).
  • Identify existing or potential problem areas and advise management team on how they can use HR processes to make improvements
  • Document forecast staffing requirements and action it accordingly.
  • Ensure appointments (including internal promotions) are in line with EE targets / strategy.
  • Recruit, select and place candidates in terms of agreed recruitment and selection processes (in conjunction with the recruitment department).
  • Analyse salary packages to ensure they are market related
  • Support line managers to ensure effective provision of counselling services where appropriate
  • Support, guide and advise line managers on matters such as succession planning, staff retention, staff development etc
  • Coordinate the implementation of the WHC performance management system (in conjunction with General Manager: Training)
  • Ensure bi-annual performance reviews are conducted.
  • Where applicable, advise line management of annual increases based on performance (where applicable)
  • Train and coach line managers on how to conduct performance reviews
  • Provide line managers with expert guidance, coaching and support on the full range of HR activities (policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, absence management, restructuring of services, performance management etc.)
  • Keep up to date with legal developments and advise management on compliance and risk factors
  • Ensure awareness and implementation of all legislative and compliance issues relating to HR i.e Malawi Labour Law, WCA, OHASA etc.
  • Manage investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters in conjunction with line managers.
  • Provide advice and guidance that will ensure objectivity and fairness in all disciplinary actions taken.
  • Analyse staff turnover and consult with line managers to make improvements.
  • Act as the company representative at Industrial Relations Court
  • Oversee the effective management of administrative processes in conjunction with Human Resources Officers / Administrators i.e. absenteeism, maternity leave, disability claims etc.
  • Ascertain, understand, devise and implement sponsor requirements with regard to sponsor-specific HR needs.
  • Compile and submit monthly reports by due date.
  • Attend to all staffing requirements and administration.
  • Supervise and manage the duties of subordinates.
  • Perform and facilitate performance development and assessments.
  • Ensure that all employees are developed to their full potential
About the Organization

Right to Care (RTC) is a non-profit organisation (NPO) that supports and delivers prevention, care and treatment services for HIV and tuberculosis (TB), sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and Hepatitis C. RTC is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO).

The RTC Group includes RTC South Africa, RTC Zambia NPC, RTC Malawi NPC, RTC Lesotho NPC, RTC United States NPC and Right ePharmacy. We develop and implement innovations in health technology, data science, pharmacy delivery and clinical care. Our solutions are primarily funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), various donors and private sector partners to fast-track HIV epidemic control.

We work with USAID and CDC country missions, implementing partners, ministries of health and other in-country stakeholders to provide innovative tailor-made solutions to end the HIV pandemic. Technical assistance and direct service delivery are provided and implemented by RTC International division in Lesotho, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Haiti, Myanmar, and Ukraine. RTC International harnesses best practice solutions focused on ending the global HIV pandemic.
