Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job:

To develop, advise on and implement human resources policies and assist in all aspects of the human resources management function such as induction, employee relations, recruitment, benefits and administration.

Relevant Education & Experience:

  • Relevant diploma or degree in Human Resources Management
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Human Resources. Certification in targeted selection and recruitment is essential
  • Previous recruitment and selection experience is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Technical & Behavioural Competencies:

  • Confidentiality, tact and discretion must be maintained at all times.
  • Ability to prioritise own work load and work to tight time scales.
  • May be required to work overtime may and travel from time to time.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and managers

Key Performance Areas:

  • Design adverts for internal / external publications in conjunction with relevant managers.
  • Collate and screen received applications and shortlist candidates for vacancies
  • Compile competency-based interview templates in conjunction with relevant managers
  • Set-up interviews with stakeholders and create interview packs for all panel members.
  • Conduct competency based interviews.
  • Arrange psychometric or other assessments (where applicable) and analyse results with relevant managers.
  • Perform reference, qualification, criminal and ITC checks (where applicable) for successful applicants prior to extending offers.
  • Extend offers to successful applicants in line with salary grading
  • Prepare regret letters for all short listed unsuccessful candidates.
  • Create and maintain recruitment files and records for audit or query purposes.
  • Accurately record data as per the recruitment processes on the tracking sheet.
  • Generate, compile and submit accurate management reports
  • Send pre-employment checklists and relevant documentation (i.e. probationary period appraisal form) to line managers prior to the commencement of new employees.
  • Coordinate and facilitate site specific induction programmes and presentations.
  •  Conduct post-induction and orientation follow-up
  • Compile relevant HR letters relating to contract renewals, transfer/ increase/ promotion/ retirement/ retrenchment/change in working conditions letters, maternity leave agreements, certificates of service and acknowledgements of debts (advances).
  • Process and assist with benefits administration including disability, funeral and death claims
  • Advise on and assist with processing of work permits
  • Advise line managers on contract expiries three months in advance and ensure follow-up.
  • Conduct exit interviews and report on trends
  • Perform dummy and other payroll checks.
  • Generate, collate and compile monthly reports relating to leave, new appointments, terminations, disabilities, disciplinary matters and other.
  •  Assist with any other HR projects as assigned.
  • Provide line managers with guidance and support on HR activities (policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, grievances/disciplinaries, training, performance management etc.).
  • Ensure awareness and implementation of all legislative and compliance issues relating to HR.
  • Conduct disciplinary investigations and provide advice that will ensure objectivity and fairness in all disciplinary actions taken.
  • Provide advice and support to staff and line managers for the successful implementation of the performance management system.
  •  Record and analyse completed performance reviews/appraisals and ensure it is filed accordingly

Right to Care (RTC) is a non-profit organisation (NPO) that supports and delivers prevention, care and treatment services for HIV and tuberculosis (TB), sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and Hepatitis C. RTC is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO).

The RTC Group includes RTC South Africa, RTC Zambia NPC, RTC Malawi NPC, RTC Lesotho NPC, RTC United States NPC and Right ePharmacy. We develop and implement innovations in health technology, data science, pharmacy delivery and clinical care. Our solutions are primarily funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), various donors and private sector partners to fast-track HIV epidemic control.

We work with USAID and CDC country missions, implementing partners, ministries of health and other in-country stakeholders to provide innovative tailor-made solutions to end the HIV pandemic. Technical assistance and direct service delivery are provided and implemented by RTC International division in Lesotho, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Haiti, Myanmar, and Ukraine. RTC International harnesses best practice solutions focused on ending the global HIV pandemic.
