Malawi Blood Transfusion Service (MBTS) is a Trust that was established to provide a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood products to meet the needs of all patients in authorised hospitals in Malawi. It is committed to meet its objective of collecting, processing and testing all blood from voluntary non-remunerated blood donors in low-risk populations to international standards, in a cost efficient manner.
The MBTS is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the following post:
Position: Human Resources and Administration Officer (Head Office)
Department: Finance and Administration
Grade: D1
Job summary
To provide efficient and effective support services to the office of Human Resources & Administration Manager in all aspects of Human Resources Management and Administration.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
- A Degree in Human Resource Management/ Public Administration/ Business Administration from a recognized higher education institution with at least 1 year work experience in a busy organisation or Diploma in Human Resources and Administration/ Public Administration/ Business Administration or any relevant field with at least 3 years work experience in a busy organisation.
- Good knowledge of HR processes and procedures
- Experience in fleet management is desirable
- Knowledge of Human Resources Management Information Systems (HRMIS)
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and other software packages
Responsibilities
- Assisting in recruitment and selection processes.
- Processing of payroll and tax returns
- Processing of salary advance and staff loan applications
- Handling staff disciplinary hearings and grievances
- Assisting in interpretation of HR Policies and Procedures including Malawi Labor laws
- Managing Fleet
- General Administration
