CCAP Nkhoma Synod

Reporting to the Education Secretary, the Human Resources and Administration Officer shall be expected to perform the following tasks:

    • Support implementation of the Education Department’s human resources and
      administration needs in the areas of professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation and training.
    • Assists with recruitment process ensuring that these are consistent, streamlined and in accordance with market standards
    • Develop a comprehensive data base regarding staff, tools, benefits, policies and
      procedures.
    • Receive and address staff grievances and facilitate settlement of workplace disputes.
    • Should be conversant with Labour Laws.
    • Maintain employee files and ensure all contracts and performance evaluations are stored in electronic form that is accessible to relevant senior management team members.
    • With the guidance and direction of the Education Secretary, renew contracts of
      members of staff on timely basis by developing a dashboard and timelines for all
      existing contracts.
    • Assist in the deployment and assignment of human resources based on school needs.
    • Lead in the administration of employees benefits and compensation.
    • Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
    • Produce and submit reports on general Human Resources activities to the Education Secretary.
    • Assist with the processing of the payroll and resolve any payroll anomalies.
    • Complete termination paper work and exit interviews for all leavers.
    • Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the Education Secretary from time to time.

 

 

Qualification, Knowledge And Experience.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management and Development or its
      equivalent.
    • At least 5 years of experience in the field of Human Resource and Development.
    • Must have a comprehensive understanding of Malawi’s Employment and Labour Laws.
    • Must have an exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship building skills.
    • Should be proficient in MS suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point) and Adobe.
    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Must have strong writing and presentation skills with the ability to communicate well within and across diverse groups.
    • Should be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
    • Must have strong business awareness and good analytical skills.
    • Must have ability to make key decisions and solve problems.
    • Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
    • Should be somebody with integrity within a professional environment.
    • Must be a committed Presbyterian Christian.
