Airport Developments Limited (ADL) is a Company fully owned by the Malawi Government and was incorporated under the English Companies Statutes of 1908 and 1913 which regulated Companies in Malawi before 1986.

ADL manages Kamuzu and Chileka International Airports and all Public Aerodromes in Malawi. It is responsible for and facilitation of smooth, safe and secure movement of air travelers and cargo through provision of world class infrastructure, services and effective management of airports in an environmentally sustainable manner for socio- economic development.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position tenable at ADL Head office in Lilongwe.

POSITION

Human Resources and Administration Manager

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • To manage the company’s human resources for efficient and effective operations
  • To manage administration activities in the company to ensure efficient and effective operations.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the development, review and implementation processes of HR programmes, policies, Terms and Conditions of Service as well as Divisional Work Plans and Budgets
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and evaluate staff development programmes.
  • Maintain Human Resource Management Information System and database.
  • Manages talent acquisition process, including sourcing, testing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
  • Manage the payroll, staff welfare and employee relations
  • Handle investigation and resolution of employee issues, concerns and conflicts
  • Oversee the insurance, utilization and maintenance of fleet and office supplies
  • Formulate policies for efficient management and optimum utilization of fleet and office resources and services
  • Manage the internal communication systems i.e. phones and mail, memos, filing etc.
  • Managing the Medical Scheme and contracts for service providers

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource, Public or Business Administration.
  • Master’s Degree in Human Resource, Public or Business Administration.
  • At least five (5) years’ work experience at senior level

  • Problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HR planning process, policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good communication skills both oral and written
  • Good understanding of labour laws and office procedures
  • Attention to detail
  • Integrity, honesty and confidentiality

REMUNERATION PACKAGE

The successful candidate shall be offered an attractive salary and benefits package commensurate with seniority of the position and qualifications of the candidate.
