The Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) is an ecumenical association of Church-owned facilities in Malawi and the Secretariat is the central coordination unit of the Association. CHAM is the second largest provider of health services in Malawi with 187 Health Facilities and 11 Training Colleges which are located in all parts of the country. Most of the Health Facilities are situated in the remote and hard-to-reach areas. The objectives of CHAM are to facilitate, provide technical support, and develop health services among all member facilities in order to achieve equity in access to health care, patient care and in all matters, to act for the benefit of the people of Malawi.

CHAM Secretariat invites applications for the positions of Health Services Intern

Position : HEALTH SERVICES INTERN
Department : Programs
Reports to : Health Services Manager

Purpose of Job

To provide support in the provision of quality health services in CHAM Facilities and to assist in achieving health services CORE activity completion rate.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assisting in following up in health program activity implementation in CHAM health facilities and training colleges.
  • Supporting the health programs department during proposal development.
  • Conducting data collection for core program indicators for departmental review of CHAM facilities health services program performance
  • Facilitating collection of SLA program invoice monthly
  • Supporting following up of SLA program facilities with invoicing challenges
  • Supporting activity implementation for Health Services Projects including processing requests and reports

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Management, Biomedical Science, Medicine or Nursing

Requisite Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Good understanding of the church-based health care delivery system
  • Interpersonal and networking skills
  • Very good communication skills (written and verbal) and results oriented
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Those with internship experience will have an added advantage
