Overview

FACE, a NGORA certified NGO in Zalewa, is seeking suitable candidates for the following two positions:

  • Headmaster (m/f) for our Secondary School
  • Headmaster (m/f) for our Primary School 

FACE is a non-profit organization that exists since 2010 to provide free, relevant and high-quality education based on Christian values for underprivileged students of all backgrounds in a conducive environment where they can realize and develop their potential to be serving agents of change in their society. It has a Preschool, a Primary and a Secondary School. A Vocational Training Centre is about to start next year.

FACE is an organization which is driven by its vision of empowering the youths of Malawi, in particular in Neno District. Therefore, FACE searches for staff that fully identifies with the mission statement and the purpose of the institution. FACE does not offer a mere job but a place to live out one’s calling and passion for bringing change and development into societies of Malawi. YOUR PROFILE

  • Committed to following and growing in Christ
  • Spiritually and personally mature and sober minded
  • Have a passion for helping young people especially those with limited resources, less support and in some cases with learning difficulties
  • A high view of your leadership tasks as loving service, ministry and calling
  • Open for advice, critique, new methods and solutions, ready for lifelong learning
  • Good cross-cultural communication skills and fluency in English (both written and oral)
  • Creative and innovative (can create new concepts, strategies, plans etc.), ready to develop the quality of the school constantly rather than being a mere administrator
  • Organizing skills
  • Punctual and highly reliable (e.g. keeps deadlines)
  • Integrity in working with diligence, dedication, and faithfulness with or without supervision.
  • Teaching skills, especially in activating student-centred methods
  • For Secondary School a minimum of a degree in education
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a similar position or in being a deputy headteacher
  • Computer literacy (able to use Microsoft office package, the internet, email).

TASKS AND FIELD OF WORK

  • All administrative work that is required of the leader of a successful school
  • Recruit, lead, empower and motivate teachers that identify with the mission statement of FACE and are willing to think and work innovative in educational fields
  • Lead the team in meaningful spiritual activities
  • Regularly take time to pray for wisdom, staff, students, board, community and school development
  • Participate in various educational networks
  • Built a relationship to the parents and community, involve them into school activities, work hand in hand with the Community Involvement
  • Team and our social workers
  • Teach with activating methods and be a role model as a teacher.
