OVERVIEW
The Management of Bubbles Schools is inviting applications for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Position: Head Teacher
Reports to: The Directors
Location: Bangwe, Blantyre.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF HEAD TEACHER

1. Planning, organizing and coordinating educational curriculum activities of teaching staff and clerical auxiliary service in the school. S/he thus has the ultimate responsibility of ensuring that the school is running in accordance with the ministry’s policies,and the vision of the founder
2. Determining school education programme, within limitation set by the ministry
3. Planning, organizing and directing activities of teachers in school and coordinating teaching programme through meetings with staff, including time tabling and allocation of teaching loads
4. Directing and personally executing administrative and clerical activities concerning student admission, provision of supplies and equipment, school meal services, student services and other auxiliary services
5. Establishing and maintaining relationships with education establishments, health welfare and other organizations
6. Maintaining standards of student discipline, cleanliness and general behavior in school
7. Discussing progress and problems of individual students with parents and teachers and recommending desirable conditions
8. Preparing estimates for running of the school
9. Supervising deputy Head teacher or heads of department to ensure that they review and examine teachers, work and results achieved in application of curriculum program for the education system
10. Supervising and coordinating the implementation of changes in the curriculum program of the education system.
11. Delivering the highest standards of education to the students to meet the national standards
12. Using data to track students’ performance and produce report
13. Checking teacher’s daily attendance
14. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Other Desirable Attributes

He or she:

• must have bachelor’s degree in education or its equivalent
• must have a vast experience in heading school institutions
• computer literate
• must have report writing skills
• possess a high standard of personal and professional integrity
• ability to work in a challenging environment, under high pressure and ability to cope with tight deadlines.
