Malawi Catering Services Limited invites applications from suitably qualified individuals of Malawian
origin to fill the vacant positions tenable at its Head Office at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA)
in Lilongwe. The candidates should be experienced, flexible, enthusiastic, and with an “I can-do
attitude’’.
HEAD DRIVER
Objectives
Responsible for planning and coordinating transportation routes, managing drivers’ schedules
and ensuring that all deliveries are made on time.
Reporting to: Human Resources and Administration Officer
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the team of drivers, ensuring that all transportation needs are met efficiently and effectively
- Plan and coordinate transportation routes, including pickups and delivery schedules, and ensure that all deliveries are made on time
- Ensure all vehicles are well maintained and operated safely, including regular maintenance
checks and inspections - Manage driver’s schedules, including tracking time worked, absence and vacations (leave
days) - Assisting in hiring and training new drivers and provide ongoing training and support to the
teams - Ensure that all drivers adhere to company policies, procedures and safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of transportation and delivery activities
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure that all vehicles are ready and available for
transportation needs - Handle any issues or concerns that arise during transportation and delivery, including customer complaints and vehicle breakdowns
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Routine vehicle checks and ensuring that all vehicle log books are being properly recorded
and updated.
Qualification, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
- Class C1 Driving License and MSCE
- 3 years’ experience in the Transport Section
- Strong knowledge of Road Traffic Rules and Regulations
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
