Chemonics International Inc, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, seeks the following long-term positions for the USAID Next Generation Early Grade Reading Activity (NextGen) in Malawi. The $75 million activity aims to solidify and build on the contributions made to date as part of the implementation of Malawi’s National Reading Program (NRP) towards improving the delivery of high-quality early primary reading instruction in all Malawian primary schools. The $75 million activity aims to solidify and build on the contributions made to date as part of the implementation of Malawi’s National Reading Program (NRP) towards improving the delivery of high-quality early primary reading instruction in all Malawian primary schools. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

  Graphic Designers

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Professional Graphic Designers will support Malawi NextGen to design and layout early grade teaching and learning materials aligned to the Ministry of Education National Reading Programme formats, styles and USAID branding requirements.

Qualifications:

  • At least five years’ experience in graphic design, industrial design, or fine arts. Bachelor’s degree in any of the above fields is strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing instructional materials for Ministry of Education and/or USAID.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a team of international and Malawian technical experts.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Ministry of Education officers, including Malawi Institute of Education
  • Experience guiding print specifications and communicating with printers to ensure accurate and on time delivery of materials.
