Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons of Malawi origin to fill various vacant posts within the company tenable at Head Office as follows;
GENERATION SUBSTATION ENGINEER – EG6
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Oversee Installation and Commissioning of EGENCO’s Generation Substations primary equipment, including switchgear and measuring transformers for associated Protection, Metering and Control equipment/System.
- Carry out day-to-day smooth running of Substations and Switchgear operations in line with business plans and associated approved budget.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of substation plant, equipment
and switchgear on all 11/66/132kv systems within EGENCO. - Participate in formulation of budget for the departmental.
- Control and monitor expenditure in Substation Section through proper procurements and control in use of resources.
- Any other duties assigned from time to time.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics or Mechanical
Engineering. - Be a person with a deep understanding of – Power Substation Systems.
- Have management and leadership skills that will enable him lead a highly technical team.
- Possess good analytical, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the power sector.
- Be conversant with MS Word, MS Excel.
- Be willing to work odd hours.
- Have a valid driving license.
- Have been Senior Authorized to operate a power system before.
- Be registered with the Malawi Engineering Institution.
- Aged between 30- 40 years old.
