ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM)

The ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) is the leading industry body for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in Malawi. We are a non-profit, member-driven organization dedicated to promoting the development and growth of the ICT sector in Malawi.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our Secretariat and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ICT in Malawi.

About the Role:

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and day-to-day operations of ICTAM. You will provide leadership and guidance to our team, manage our relationships with members and stakeholders, and oversee the implementation of our strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to guide the growth and development of ICTAM.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of ICTAM, including budgeting, financial management, and human resources.
  • Lead and motivate a team of staff members to achieve ICTAM’S objectives.
  • Serve as the primary representative of the association and foster strong relationships with government bodies, industry partners, and other stakeholders, advocating for policies that support the ICT sector’s growth.
  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote the development and growth of the ICT sector in Malawi.
  • Ensure the association’s financial stability by managing its finances, budget, and fundraising efforts.
  • Manage ICTAM’s communication and advocacy efforts to raise awareness of the importance of ICT in Malawi’s development.
  • Drive membership growth and retention, fostering a sense of community within the ICT industry.
  • Represent ICTAM at national, regional, and international events.
  • Lead the coordination of ICTAM events to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Provide regular reports to the association’s board of directors and ensure compliance with relevant governance and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred). Those with a Masters Degree have an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably in the ICT sector or a non-profit organization.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, financial management, and business development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong understanding of the ICT sector in Malawi and the challenges and opportunities it faces.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Passion for ICT and its potential to drive development in Malawi.
  • Paid up member of the ICT Association of Malawi
