Copyright Society of Malawi (COSOMA), a statutory organization established under Section 5 of the
Copyright Act of 2016 has the following vacant positions in its establishment:
Post: Gardener
Department: Human Resource and Administration
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide gardening and cleaning services for COSOMA
Key Duties
a) Selecting and planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and other vegetation based on the garden’s design
and soil conditions.
b) Cleaning the surrounding and sanitary areas.
c) Preparing and improving soil through activities like tilling, adding compost or fertilizers,
d) Pruning, trimming, mowing i.e. cutting back or shaping plants to promote healthy growth and
maintaining the desired appearance of the garden.
e) Watering the flowers or vegetation
f) Report about any faults of all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and
leaf blowers
g) Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter
h) Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Malawi School Certificate of Education plus 2 years’ experience
Additional Skills and Abilities
- Good communication skills
- Good understanding of plants, soil, and garden design, along with physical stamina and creativity to keep outdoor spaces thriving and beautiful.
- Ability to work quickly, flexibly, effectively and positively in response to requests made at short
notice. - Ability to follow instructions
- Work with minimal supervision
- Be prepared to work long hours.
