Support a startup empowering youth in Malawi
Nkhotakota District Youth Network: Malawi’s Poverty levels remain high, at 51.5 percent as of 2017, affecting many people especially the youth, women and children. The country is failing to harness the growing and youthful labor force, so that unemployment remains high at around 20 percent and skewed heavily against the youth. Nkhotakota District Youth Network is an autonomous, voluntary elected youthful body representing young people in Nkhotakota District whose main goal is to enhance total involvement and commitment of young people on issues of personal and national development.
The network is mandated to empower and inspire youth to become allies of good governance and development by challenging themselves and fellow youth to actively participate in decision making, implementation of community projects, and take responsibility to protect development resources and infrastructure through monitoring and holding duty bearers accountable.
- They are looking for a Fundraising VOLUNTEER to join their team to help them grow their resources by: Establish funding strategies. Identify funding and business opportunities. Draft funding and investment proposals. Draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for partnership and investment proposals. Build the capacity of the team in fundraising. Support youth clubs and young entrepreneurs to be funding/investor ready. Prepare and submit monthly reports to the chairperson.
- Volunteer 4-10 hours per week remotely
