opportunities have arisen in our organisation for various positions within our Forestry Department as below:

FORESTRY TECHNICIANS (5 POSITIONS)

Job Purpose

To assist in the implementation of reforestation projects and programs to achieve self-sufficiency, renewable and sustainable supply of wood.

Reports to: Area Forestry Supervisor

Key responsibilities

• Manages company woodlots to ensure maximum tree survival and growth rates.
• Develops and implement long term Forest Management Plans, Waste Management Plans, Environmental Management, Monitoring and Mitigation Plans
• Manage the human, physical and financial resources of the forest plantation.
• Plan, execute and supervise forestry field activities within budget and time constraints.
• Implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure high quality of work output.
• Protects company woodlots from all threats (Fires, theft, pests diseases, weather hazards etc.)
• Management and supervision of tree nurseries including establishing and managing Pyxus & smallholder contracted tree nurseries.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Forestry
• Motor cycle licence will be an added advantage

The Person

• She/he must be aged 23 years old or less (born on or after 1st January 2000).
• She/he must possess great communication and record management skills.
• She/he must be a self-starter, able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
• She/he must be prepared to reside within the forest.
