Farming and Engineering Services Limited (FES), a leading supplier and operator of premium brand products including Massey Ferguson and Challenger tractors, Komatsu machinery, Trimble GPS equipment, and Baldan farm implements has immediate vacancies for the following positions at FES Malawi-Blantyre Office:
FINANCIAL ANALYST
Reporting to the Finance Manager
The Financial Analyst is responsible for timely and accurate monthly reporting, and ensure they follow local accounting regulations, IFSs, as well as FES Group Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make sure that financial statements are produced in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs)
- Maintain a sound internal control environment of the business
- Maintain a sound tax environment of the business
- Ensure that all payments for local and foreign suppliers are processed within three working days.
- Ensure that payments are immediately allocated fully to invoices
- Ensure that all supplier balances are reconciled to the supplier statements monthly.
- Manage supplier relations and ensure that they are paid after 30 days
- Examining financial records to check for accuracy
- Credit control (debtors and payables balances are within the limits)
- Updating customer credit limits when need arises
- Ensuring accounting standards and policies are adhered to
- Managing and supervision of subordinates (Payables, Receivable and Treasury staff)
- Calculation of doubtful debt provision in terms of IFRS 9
- Reconciling control accounts
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of Degree in Accounting
- Should have professional qualifications CA, ACCA or CIMA
- 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of Sage X3 Accounting system and Microsoft Excel
