Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper. In this role, you will be responsible for reconciling daily transactions in Malawi. The majority of transactions in Malawi involve cash and interactions with individuals and informal vendors. As some team members may not have accounting experience, we are looking for someone willing to teach and guide them through the invoicing process.

Responsibilities:

1. Reconcile daily transactions in Malawi with US accounts.
2. Handle cash transactions and work with individuals and informal vendors.
3. Create and manage invoices, providing guidance to team members who may be new to invoicing.
4. Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
5. Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organization policies.
6. Foster a culture of patience and learning, especially considering the rotation of individuals in and out of our campus.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
2. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
3. Patience and willingness to teach individuals with varying levels of accounting knowledge.
4. Cultural sensitivity and interest in learning about different cultures.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
