World Vision International in Malawi therefore is currently looking for dedicated professional Christians to fill the positions below under the Global Evergreen Alliance-Climate Asset Management Project in Ntcheu District.

FINANCE OFFICER (GRADE 13) 1 POSITION BASED IN NTCHEU DISTRICT

Purpose of Position:

The Finance Officer is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all project finance processes. The incumbent is responsible for budgeting and monitoring, including the reinforcement of Finance policies

Major Responsibilities

Cash Management

  • Ensure the proper management of travel refunds
  • Prepare cash analyses to support operations of projects
  • Budgeting and budgetary Control
  • Supporting the project annual budgeting, including the WBS in accordance with the Partnership Budgeting Guidelines

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Support monthly FFR review meetings at project level
  • Ensure that year end and monthly reporting processes for project level are completed timely, and within Partnership Budget Guidelines

Audit Coordination

  • Review project audit reports and support operations with implementation of the audit recommendations within 90 days of reporting
  • Support the provision of the requested information to the auditors
  • Maintain documents (soft/hard copies)

Risk Management and compllance

  • Supports the project in ensuring that all staff are aware of the WV financial policies
  • Supports the reporting, investigation, documentation and management of all fraudulent activities. procedural breaches, control weaknesses and other non-conforming activity as soon as it is suspected.
  • Ensures all project losses suspected and actual incidences are timely reported on IIMS
  • Advises staff and stakeholders on regulation and government policy changes that impact the organization and project delivery

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

  • A holder Degree in Accounting or relevant qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years practical experience in office management in a busy office at supervisory level with strong accounting experience
  • Excellent experience working with computerized accounting systems
  • Excellent written & spoken English
  • Experience working in the NGO sector managing multiple tasks
  • Proven experience and demonstration of mastery with micro soft office computer packages such as excel, word and Power point
  • Knowledge in key grants regulations or requirements for different donors
  • Registration with professional bodies such as ICAM, ACCA or CIMA
