Job Summary
Responsible for handling all finance entries to ensure accurate financial record keeping as well as timely, detailed, and accurate reconciliation of financial documents, including bank statements, inventory records, invoices, and other reports
Reporting line to Finance Manager
Principal Responsibilities
Assist in the financial management of the Akule project including financial document preparation, processing of payments, financial record keeping and financial document processing.
Monitor, record and update ledgers, accounts, and support related financial tracking.
Support the creation of financial reports and other required financial disclosure documents.
Maintain all office and project financial accounts. This includes accounts payable, checking accounts, consultant contracts, travel expenses, and all subcontractors’ payments.
Produce weekly workshop and travel advance for review by the Finance Manager and follow up any outstanding advance.
Review financial reports of all sub awardees for processing monthly.
Maintain financial files of the Project
Process local staff compensation payments on a timely basis.
Prepare VAT reimbursement reports for submission to MRA and USAID
Process all statutory payments applicable to Malawi Revenue Authority ie. WHT, PAYE & TEVET Levey
Conducting financial reviews for the implementing partners

Education and Experience
Training in accounting up to CPA section 4
Bachelor of Commerce Finance will be an added advantage
Excellent proficiency in QuickBooks, Word, and Excel
Experience working with USG awards
International NGO accounting experience for at least 2years.
