Your mission at EcoGen
Finance Officer at EcoGen will be responsible for accurate recording and reporting of transactions, managing the accounting and payment activities.
You’ll be in charge of:
- Assisting with maintaining accurate financial records, including recording transactions, processing invoices, and updating financial database or systems
- Managing bookkeeping tasks such as recording income and expense, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining general ledgers
- Monitoring and processing employees’ expenses, verifying receipts, and ensuring adherence to expense policy
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements and cashflow statements
- Assisting with payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculation of employee salaries, benefits, and deductions, and preparing payroll reports
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecast by collecting data, analyzing trends, and providing input to the finance team
- Supporting internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Ensure invoices are paid on time
- Performing general administrative duties such as filing financial documents, organizing records, and responding to finance related inquires
More about YOU
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in either Finance/Accounting, Business Management.
- Relevant professional qualification in Finance/Accounting e.g. PAEC, ACCA or CIFA
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience with at least 2 years experience in managing a team in a busy Finance department.
- Audit experience will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of financial reporting.
- Excellent time management and work planning skills.
- Strong ethics and very accountable.
- Excellent team management skills.

Location, travel and start date
- You will be based in the Lilongwe Office.
- Traveling up to 25% of your time across Malawi.
