Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) is a leading tourism and hospitality training and educational Institution in Malawi with training campuses in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu. The Institute also runs three application hotels, namely Alendo hotel in Blantyre, Lingadzi Inn in Lilongwe and Mzuzu Lodge.

Purpose of the Job
To provide overall financial policy direction and management of financial resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Formulating, implementing and monitoring short and long term financial resources.
- Developing plans, programmes, projects and budgets based on priorities within resources allocated.
- Representing the MIT on financial matters involving Government and other stakeholders.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining sound financial policies, procedures, and management and control systems.
- Managing finances and overseeing accounting functions of the MIT.
- Producing periodic financial reports.
- Facilitating budget preparation and expenditure reporting.
- Setting financial targets for MIT facilities and monitoring and evaluating compliance on a regular basis.
- Management of MIT’s inventory and assets.
- Advising MIT management on investment opportunities.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum of Degree in Accounting or Finance plus professional qualification at chartered level (ACCA or CIMA).
- Member of ICAM.
- Three years relevant experience in finance or external audit.
