VACANCY: FINANCE MANAGER

The Kamuzu University of Health Sciences Sports Complex, a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), has a vacant position of Finance Manager. The position is tenable in Blantyre on a two-year contract basis which is renewable based on satisfactory performance.

The position details are as follows:

Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: KUHES Sports Complex
Responsible to: General Manager
Responsible for: Accountant

Main purpose of the job

To provide Financial Management Services for the KUHeS Sports Complex

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Advising the General Manager on all aspects of Financial and assets management
2. Controlling and coordinating the Sports Complex accounting functions
3. Facilitating the preparation of periodic budget and forecast estimates
4. Controlling of expenditure and authorizing payments including reviewing and analyzing the payroll
5. Analyzing and consolidating management accounts and financial statements
6. Facilitating the management and revaluation of assets and stores
7. Supporting the development and reviewing financial and investment policies, plans, strategies, procedures and regulations
8. Designing and implementing internal controls
9. Development and implementation of resource mobilization strategies
10. Fostering efficient utilization of resources at the Sports Complex
11. Managing external and internal audits
12. Preparing periodic accounts and providing detailed analysis.

Minimum education qualification and experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related fields from a National Council for Higher Education recognized University
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAM and Member of ICAM in good standing.
• At least 5 years’ experience at management level
