TEVETA

The Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) is a

regulatory body that was established in 1999 by an Act of Parliament with the mandate to coordinate and facilitate technical, entrepreneurial and vocational education and training in Malawi. Apart from the Secretariat in Lilongwe, the Authority has three regional service centres in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre.

Employment opportunities have now risen within the Authority for the position of Assistant Training Programs Specialist (Apprenticeship) for which the Authority invites suitably qualified professionals to apply.

The job holder provides cashiering and payment processing services to the Authority and reports to the Regional Accountant.

 

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Receipt of payments to the Authority and issuing of receipts;
  • Disbursement of cash;
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of petty cash imprest;
  • Ensuring proper retirement of working advances;
  • Payment voucher verification and making payments on EFT;
  • Preparation of Remittance Advices;
  • Making bank deposits and withdrawals;
  • Data capturing into Accounting system;
  • Filing of accounting documents;

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Accounting (PAEC/ACCA)
  • Two (2) years’ experience with great attention to details skills
  • Must be a member of Institute of Chartered
  • Accountants in Malawi
  • Must be studying towards a professional qualification such as ICAM, ACCA or CIMA.
