VACANCY – FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the above position which is tenable at the company’s Head Office in Blantyre. This is a senior position reporting to the Regional Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
The successful person will among other functions be responsible for all financial accounting functions of the company including but not limited to:-
- Assist in the month end close process and preparation of monthly group reporting packs, within the defined timelines
- Ensuring compliance with tax requirements through timely review and submission of all taxes
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, bank and inter-company reconciliations
- Assisting in coordinating accounts payable and general accounting functions ensuring invoicing and payments made are timely and accurately recorded
- Work closely with independent auditors during and preparing schedules for the annual audit
- Supervising the maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
Qualifications and Job Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or related field from a well recognised University
- A professional qualification in ACCA/CIMA and must be a member of ICAM
- Proficiency with accounting systems such as syspro ERP
- Audit experience will be an added advantage.
