CADECOM Blantyre

The Catholic Development Commission (CADECOM) – in the Archdiocese of Blantyre is a relief and developmental arm of the Archdiocese of Blantyre under the Episcopal Conference of Malawi. It is mandated to ensure that development and relief services within the Archdiocese of Blantyre are implemented according to the Catholic Social Teaching (CST).

CADECOM, therefore, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Malawians to fill the following vacant posts in its Land Restoration program to be implemented in Neno District

Employment Type: Full-time

Reporting to: Programs Coordinator

Main Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Sensitization, awareness creation and mobilization of semi urban poor households primary schools and private sectors (SME) on land Restoration activities.
  • Developing management and marketing capacities of all relevant actors.
  • The development and implementation of strategies and programs and activities to maintain and improve biodiversity conservation and natural resource management, focusing on koalas and private land conservation.
  • Develop partnerships with local, state and non-government agencies and networks.
  • Working with private landholders and public land management agencies to improve outcomes for land restoration and regeneration.
  • Contract and budget management, landholder liaison, development and delivery of workshops and events and the planning and delivery of habitat restoration projects.
  • Compile project progress reports with relevant case studies for sharing with Project Management Team, government partners and other stakeholders and sector players.
  • Computer literate and ability to work within tight deadlines.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Community Development, Environmental Science and Technology, Environmental Health and any related qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills
  • Computer literate and ability to work within tight deadlines.
