Field Officer (Re-advertised)

Tenable in Neno district, the Field Officer will play a key role in the implementation of climate change adaptation and sustainable energy project activities. This role involves direct engagement with communities, promoting sustainable development practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of project outcomes. He/She will be answerable to the District Project Coordinator.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable energy activities in line with project goals.
  • Conduct community trainings and sensitizations on sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and climate resilience.
  • Collaborate with local leaders and stakeholders to ensure project ownership and sustainability.
  • Support the facilitation of scenario planning sessions and other participatory methods for community engagement.
  • Regularly monitor project activities and ensure they align with project timelines and objectives.
  • Promote community-led solutions for building resilience to climate change and improving access to sustainable energy.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Community Development, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Experience working in community-based projects, preferably in climate change adaptation or sustainable energy.
  • Strong understanding of climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, and rural community engagement.
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle long distance and a valid motorcycle license.
  • Commitment to international and humanitarian NGO codes, standards and practices
