CADECOM

CADECOM-Zomba is a commission that functions as the relief and development arm of the Church. Its primary goal is to create awareness and empower the disadvantaged, including men, women, and youth at all levels. The commission is dedicated to pursuing integral, gender-sensitive, environmentally conscious, sustainable development that promotes justice, human dignity, and self-reliance, with active community participation. Currently, the commission is undertaking an Irish Aid Civil Society Programme (ICSP) focused on Livelihood and Natural Resource Management in Machinga District. This project is financially supported by Irish Aid through Trocaire, spanning from 2023 to 2027. In order to ensure the high-quality implementation of the project, the commission is looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual for the field officer position.

Job Title : Field Officer

Reports to : Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

The key responsibilities of this position will include:

  1. Developing monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans and progress reports as specified in the work plans, and contributing to the budget plan.

  2. Collaborating with the Programme Management Team to develop future programs in line with organizational objectives.

  3. Implementing Sustainable Agricultural production, Livelihood, Natural Resource Management, and Disaster Risk Management interventions on the front-line.

  4. Facilitating the overall implementation of activities in accordance with approved project or activity budgets.

  5. Serving as a conduit for information sharing between stakeholders and program management.

  6. Providing ongoing assistance, networking activities, capacity building, and training for community groups under the guidance of the Programme Coordinator, in order to achieve the overall Project objectives.

  7. Contributing to the identification, development, or acquisition of appropriate resources to support technical components of the Programme, including the written translation of materials.

  8. Participating in the development of evaluation tools, compiling and entering data into the computer database for program evaluations and surveys.

  9. Providing information for analysis and reporting.

  10. Documenting best practices/case studies and other relevant information as agreed on the work plan.

  11. Collecting data and reporting to the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.

  12. Representing CADECOM-Zomba in local forums.

  13. Compile activity and monthly reports

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  1. Minimum of a Diploma in Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, or Environmental Sciences.

  2. Must possess a valid Motorcycle Driving License.

  3. At least 3 years of progressive experience working in donor funded activities.
