TEAM AND ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Join our diverse team as a Farmer Trainer, where you will gain hands-on experience in facilitating training and developing educational materials for farmers.

  • As a Key member, you will ensure organic farmers’ compliance with organic certification standards and also provide valuable insights to farmer clubs on organic farming practices.

JOB PROFILE

  • Are you passionate about providing guidance and support to organic farmers by assisting them with agronomic questions?

  • Are you someone who likes to communicate, collaborate and facilitate training sessions for farmers?

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate training sessions to farmer clubs on organic farming practices.

  • Facilitate monthly training sessions for the farmers at the Organic Farmer Field school.

  • Collaborate with project members to develop educational materials and resources.

  • Provide guidance and support to organic farmers aQysta is working with and assist them with agronomic questions.

  • Ensure organic farmers compliance with organic certification standards.

  • Communicate regularly with other project members, sharing updates on training and challenges.

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS

  • Education: Possess a minimum of a Diploma in Agricultural Science or any related field from an accredited learning institution.

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ work experience as a farmer trainer.

  • Strong knowledge of compost making, crop rotation and natural pest management.

  • Previous experience in training and education in the agricultural sector is desirable.

  • Proven experience in organic farming and sustainable agriculture.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
