POSITION: FARM SUPERVISOR/ TECHNICIAN (1)

Job Title: Farm Supervisor

Reports to: Farm/ Marketing Manager

Location: Mchinji.

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our farms. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising farm labourers, managing crop production, and ensuring the overall efficiency and productivity of the farm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervise all farming activities , timing, quality standards related to crop production and manage farms,
2. Plan, coordinate, and implement crop  production activities, including planting, harvesting.
3. Monitor correct use of materials, inputs and control farm expenses, including labor requirements, inputs, and equipment maintenance.
4. Ensure compliance with farm safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards.
5. Conduct regular inspections of the farm to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
6. Collaborate with the Farm/ Marketing Manager to develop and implement farm plans, policies, and procedures.
7. Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including crop yields and financial transactions.
8. Liaise with external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
9. Creative, proactive in identifying risks, provide instructions to Management on Various farm activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Farm Management, or a related field.
2. At least 5 years of experience in farm supervision or management.
3. Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising labourers.
4. Strong knowledge of crops including agronomy and farm mechanics.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
7. Physical fitness and ability to work in a farm environment.
