BLEJ is a startup in Agro-farm that is into sustainable, and organic horticulture (Pomology to be precise). We are expanding to the next level of our farming, and we are looking for an experienced, passionate and dedicated farm manager to join us. The Farm is in Mchinji district, and we are looking for someone within the district or willing to relocate. This position is a management position that will report directly to BLEJ GROUP directors.

 

#Your Responsibilities

· Developing the farm and ensuring the effective and optimized operations in the farming process.

· Supervise day to day farm operations including development of work plans, documenting reports, and ensuring proper utilization of resources in both labor and finances.

· Manage inventory; machinery, seeds, fertilizer, pesticides and other farm inputs and outputs, ensure quality and maximum crop yields.

· With the directors, plan and coordinate the implementation of all farm activities including planting, harvesting, grading, storage and marketing.

· Supervise and manage the performance of all workers and contractors at the farm, ensuring that daily tasks are completed in accordance with the agreed plans and schedules.

· Hiring, training, and contracting workers.

#Your Qualifications

· Educational background in the Agricultural field (Agronomy preferably) with a Diploma, bachelor’s or master’s degree.

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in horticulture and decision-making position

· Can articulate his/her thought and communicate effectively with upper management.

· Have experience in Project management with general understanding of time management, budgeting and resource management.

· Willingness to learn and adapt based on the needs of the customers and business.

· Ready to get your hands and feet dirty. This is not an office corporate job, it is a farm based position.

· Experience in other staple crops and herbs would be an addition.
