Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Event Coordinator, located in Mzuzu. The Event Coordinator will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing events. Daily tasks include coordinating with vendors, managing event logistics, handling customer service inquiries, and ensuring smooth event operations. The role also involves sales aspects such as promoting events and securing event sponsorships.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Event Planning and Event Management skills
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
- Hire personnel as needed across all functions of an event (ex: registration, setup, catering, audio/visual)
- Experience in Sales and promoting events
- Book venues, entertainers, photographers, and schedule speakers
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Hiring, training, and supervising event staff, including volunteers and event workers.
- Conduct final inspections on the day of the event to ensure everything adheres to the client’s standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field is a plus
- Experience in coordinating large-scale events is an advantage
