Job title: Baseline survey enumerator
Location: Lilongwe
Period: Urgently
Optimum has been hired to conduct a baseline study for new project in Lilongwe. We require the temporary services of several enumerators for the project’s baseline survey. Enumerators are primarily responsible for collecting quality data at EPA level. He/she will have direct contact with primary pupils and teachers.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Before data collection:
- Faithfully and diligently attend training workshop
- Care for materials and equipment received from Nascent Solutions
During data collection:
- Locate and visit sample schools and identify pupils, parents and teachers to be interviewed
- Completely and correctly record responses as instructed
- Recognize and give an account of problems in obtaining data during the assessment and other challenges encountered; report the issues according to the instructions given during the training
- Submit completed tasks to the team supervisor and discuss developments daily
The successful candidates will have the following qualifications and skills:
- High level of organization, ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time and meet deadlines
- Basic understanding of technology such as mobile phones and computers.
- Experience collecting data with mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) a plus
- Excellent spoken and written English and Chichewa
- Experience working or collecting data with children/in schools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Confidence, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude
- Ability to travel to communities within the Central and Southern regions for the duration of the data collection
- A commitment to positively represent Nascent Solutions to the community
Training and admission
To ensure good capacity and knowledge of enumerators, the following steps will be taken:
- Training on basic assessment and data collection.
- Final screening test of enumerators at the end of training will be conducted for final selection.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Diploma in an applicable field of study (nutrition and agriculture.) is required
- A minimum of 1-years of experience conducting household surveys in Liberia; experience with household surveys in preferred
- Demonstrable experience with mobile data collection platforms, particularly ODK and tablet based field surveys
- Knowledge of electrical systems and energy terminology
- Excellent communication skills in English, and other major local languages
- Excellent writing and reporting skills
- Proven leadership skills and ability to work independently and as part of the team
- They should have ability to answer the questions and clear confusions of the people
- Physical stamina is also important as they have to walk visiting one house to other whole day
- Should be familiar with the area or the locality they are working in
- They should possess ability to handle pressure and should be patient
