JOB OPPORTUNITY – ELECTRICIAN
About Us
Thanzi Chicks Limited is into the business of integrated Poultry Farming covering Breeders, Hatchery, Broiler and Layer Chicken Farming. As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for Skilled Electricians to join our team at our Facilities in Malawi.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Skilled Electrician possessing National Senior Certificate with at least Five years of experience in handling diversified Electrical Equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient operation and maintenance of our Equipment to support our production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tasks as outlined by immediate supervisor or line manager
- Perform planned, preventative and routine maintenance
- Plan and schedule all maintenance tasks to meet operational objective
- Perform routine inspections to ensure efficiency and compliance of plant, equipment, facilities on all electrical installations.
- Ensure daily task is completed satisfactory to achieve intended objective
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain Workmanship quality
- Adhere to Good Housekeeping Practices
- Prevent Production losses & downtime
- Execute Key Performance duties diligent and effectively.
- Prepare bill of materials as and when required
- Attend to emergency call outs as per operational requirement
- Attend to all meetings and training programs as advised by management
- Adhere to all approved company policies, engineering code of practices and occupational health safety regulations, Statutory Requirements of Malawi.
Key Requirements
- Five years’ experience maintaining plant machinery and facilities within the Poultry Production environment.
- Two years working on LV – MV power distribution network installations and upgrades.
- Three years’ experience installing, repairing and upgrades of motor controls, VSD systems.
- Good understanding of fault finding methods using industry tools and critical thinking.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of Electrical Installations and Machinery Regulations
- Good understanding of Maintenance Practices, record keeping, planning and scheduling.
- Administrative knowledge of BoM and BoQ.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and diagrams
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good Time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Technical writing and calculating skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under tight schedules
- Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment
- Working on heights and confined spaces
- Responsible, trustworthy and honest
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Lilongwe, Malawi.
