Good Neighbors International-Malawi (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) with its headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Good Neighbors Malawi currently implements various community development projects within the following sectors, Health, Education, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture and Social Welfare ‘advocacy for children’s rights’, and other livelihood projects.

Education project coordinator (3 Months)

Role description

Under the supervision of the Programs Manager, the, Education Project Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining records for Education e.g. Good sisters and Hope club in all Lilongwe CDPs, by Facilitate correspondence pertaining to projects with local partners and foreign organization in matters to project operation plan and ensures that all the projects activities and documents are reported / up to date according to GNM procedures and regulations.

Major Duties

  • Prepare and submit work programs and progress to program Manager and Country Director
  • Oversee the overall organizational activities, general planning and organizing program in coordination with program manager
  • Provide direction and guidance to program partners and staffs in developing a correspondence plan; ensure that clear performance measurements are developed.
  • Build staff capacity for success in the country office development program area by recruiting,
    completing annual performance evaluation, and training
  • Organizing regular internal and external meetings with stakeholders to plan and review activities in the field
  • Coordinate regular project reviews in conjunction with program Manager, Country Director and with local stake holders
  • Ensuring adherence to the relevant donor contacts and compliance requirements under close
    supervision of Program Manager and Country Director.
  • Responsible for coordination of program and strategy development
  • Draw up plans, proposals and budgets for new projects/extension of projects in conjunction with the relevant team/staffs.
  • Maintain good inter team communication, engender good team dynamics
  • Assist the Program Manager/Country Director in planning capacities development, organizing,
    structuring the system and training of all staffs
  • Provide leadership, management, supervision, coaching and on-the-job training to Subordinates
  • Prepare and consolidate monthly projects reports to Programs Manager, Country Director and
    Headquarters.

 

 

Person’s Specification

Education: Degree in related development fields;

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in related fields;
  • Excellent report and proposal writing skills;
  • Good knowledge of Malawian education, health, community development, sustainable development,
  • NGO activities and Youth related policies
  • Good command of English language skills;
  • Computer literate; MS Word, Excel and data base management

Qualification/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Community development studies/ Education with not less than 3 years’
    experience working with donor funded organization in a busy office dealing with multiple donor projects.
