Job Title:                     Education Officer

 

Job Specification:

The incumbent shall ensure the smooth operation and delivery of sparkle education program

Duties and Tasks

  • With input from the education team, draw plans on the best use of existing education-related resources and identify locally sourced materials for use where possible
  • Aid in identifying and collating gaps in resources and submit realistic budget proposals to the Program Manager for review
  • Lead team in ensuring implementation of educational programme adheres to work plan and budget
  • Ensure Education team leaders for all Sparkle centers accurately reports data as defined by the M and E plan (using the available electronic tools provided).
  • Act as the link of the Education department to the wider Sparkle team
  • Monitor and report on key educational statistics and evidence to inform new program development
  • Develop, plan, and implement the curriculum for each school year for all Sparkle centers, in accordance with the Montessori framework.
  • Develop and implement high-quality educational programs across Sparkle centers for pre-school, primary school, and adult literacy programs.
  • Supervise and support the teaching staff in the development and delivery of high-quality and creative lesson plans across the preschool and primary school curriculum and programs.
  • Identify and obtain necessary resources to support the delivery of quality education, in conjunction with the teaching staff.
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines when necessary to the Education Team Leaders.
  • Monitor and report education staff performance for continual program improvement
  • Work with other departments (Health, Community) to integrate other educational programs across departments to promote the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times, ensuring children are not left unattended at any time
  • Input into Sparkle Vulnerability Pathway to monitor and develop action plans for high-risk children
  • Provide the team with a vision of educational objectives, guided by Education Department Strategy
  • Encourages team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skills
  • Help to identify education team challenges, and help to oversee education work for quality and Sparkle policy adherence
  • Conduct team meetings within the education department to update members on best practice and expectations
  • Develop educational partnership opportunities and oversee project proposals in partnership with other potential partners

 

 Qualifications

  • A university degree in Early Childhood Development Studies or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in an education setting or similar environment
  • Attention to detail and a flexible approach to work
