We aim to empower all Malawians to choose and sustain healthy behaviours though evidence-based health and development communication, community mobilization, advocacy, and delivery of person-centred integrated HIV prevention and Sexual and reproductive health care services.

Driver Job Summary

Transporting staff and delivering them to the field in a safe and timely manner. Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients/partners/TWG in a safe, timely manner. Reviewing stocks before and after delivery to ensure that delivery is complete, the stock items collected are as per stock transfer order, and the clients/ partners and employees are satisfied with the delivery

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that motor vehicles are always road worthy.
  • Ensure that motor vehicles are always clean.
  • Updates logbook always.
  • Prepare gate-pass before every trip.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To Drive office staff and any other visitors as assigned.
  • Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other related goods and supplies in the districts of implementation.
  • Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports. Maintaining a daily log of all trips, mileage and fuel consumption for monthly checking by Project Administrator
  • Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.
  • Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
  • Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.
  • Collect mail from Post Office and deliver outgoing mails to various destinations within the city.
  • Prepares stock transfer note when delivering stock and ensure that it is always completed by all parties (officer discharging and receiving the goods).

Required Skills and Experience

Education

  • Malawi Schools Certificate of Education
  • Valid Driver’s license of at least 3 classes.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in vehicle repairing
  • Certificate in Mechanics is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 5 years’ work experience as a driver; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of the local languages of the area would be an asset.
