Role Overview:

We are seeking responsible and experienced candidates to join our team as Driver/Office Assistants. The Drivers will be responsible for safely transporting staff, materials, and equipment to various project sites, maintaining the vehicle in good condition, and ensuring compliance with all traffic and safety regulations. The drivers will also assist in running office errands. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the organization and our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport staff, materials, and equipment to and from project sites and other destinations as required.
  • Maintain the assigned vehicle in excellent condition, ensuring regular servicing and cleanliness.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or damages immediately.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation for the vehicle, including insurance and registration, is up to date.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and CEM’s driving policies and procedures.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of materials and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of travel, including mileage, fuel consumption, and destinations.
  • Provide support with logistical arrangements for events, meetings, and field activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Malawian driver’s license (Class C1) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience.
  • Experience driving 4×4 vehicles and navigating challenging terrains is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, honesty and reliability.
