JOB DESCRIPTION
Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) was established by Chapter 18:09 of the Laws of Malawi in 1966 as a Humanitarian Organization, with established presence in all 29 districts. It is a government sub-vented organization with a mandate of proving relief aid to people affected by conflict and disasters throughout Malawi suffering and is among the lead agencies in the delivery of vulnerable communities. MRCS is a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and executes its mandate through the principles of the Movement and the Movement’s Fundamental Principles.
MRCS is urgently seeking to engage the services of suitably qualified, motivated, capable, and experienced individuals to fill the vacant positions which have emerged in its various districts. The positions are listed as follows:
Drivers
The Driver provides logistical/transport/office support for the office as per location. This includes maintaining office vehicles, ensuring that the vehicle policies are adhered to, timely fuel reconciliation reports, and other logistical duties as needed. The Driver is expected to be flexible and work longer than office hours when in the field or departing/arriving from the field.
Education
- Malawi School Certificate of Education and a qualification in Defensive driving will have a plus.
- Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans, trucks, and other kinds of motorized vehicles. Experience in defensive driving is essential.
- Formal drivers training with a valid driver’s license/certification to operate assigned vehicles following local rules and regulations.
