PSI Malawi is affiliated with Population Service International, a Washington DC-based non-governmental and nonprofit making organization. PSI Malawi’s mission is to support low-income and at-risk Malawians to lead healthier lives through the provision and promotion of quality products and services, in line with the Government of Malawi’s goals. To accomplish its mission, PSI Malawi is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Driver (Temporary Position)

With direction from the Team Leader, the Driver shall be responsible for the general safety of the PSI vehicle and lawful passengers on board and other road users. Specifically, He/She will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities.

  • Drive PSI Malawi vehicles to meet required deadlines following laid down rules
  • Drive PSI Malawi vehicles within the legal limits
  • Keep PSI Malawi vehicles well maintained and in safe operating conditions
  • Record vehicle mileage, destination and purpose of the trip, time, service, oiling, and fueling history in the vehicle log book
  • Maintain ever-cleanliness of PSI Malawi vehicle
  • Carry any other lawful duties that may be delegated from time to time

Qualification, Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

Applicants must possess the following qualifications, knowledge abilities, and skills

  • Minimum qualification of MSCE; Class C1 driving license with 5 years of driving experience in manual transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to communicate in English and fill in log books and other relevant documents
  • Those with basic vehicle mechanical knowledge, defensive driving, and computer skills will have an added advantage.
  • Must be a result oriented, and self–starting team player
