VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

DRIVER (MULTIPLE POSITIONS)_LILONGWE CITY

The Malawi Epidemiology and Intervention Research Unit (MEIRU), operates in Karonga District and Lilongwe City. The programme is developing capacity in non-communicable disease research (including mental health), health informatics, epidemiology, and other areas. Research is done in partnerships and in highly conducive academic environments.

MEIRU seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual to the post of driver at Lilongwe research site. Due to the nature of work involved, the position is available to individual living within Lilongwe City.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Drive MEIRU’s motor vehicles safely, to transport authorised staff and goods.
  • Maintain the allocated vehicle in good working condition and clean at all times.
  • Update vehicle logbooks daily and regularly.
  • Carry out vehicle maintenance checks and report the information gathered accordingly.
  • Maintain records on mileage, fuel consumption, repairs and replacements.
  • Undertake official errands as requested.
  • Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE). All MSCE certificates will be verified with Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB).
  • 3 years’ previous work experience in similar position with reputable organisation
  • Driver’s license code C1
  • Defensive driving certificate Intervention Research Unit
  • Certificate in motor vehicle mechanics will be an added advantage.
