National Initiative for Civic Education

The National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) was established in 1999, in 2012 NICE become a Public Trust incorporated under the Public Trustees Act 1968. The overall objective of NICE as an independent and autonomous Trust is to contribute towards strengthening and deepening of democratic process and improved governance in Malawi for accelerated economic growth and poverty reduction.

NICE is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following existing vacant position.

POSITION : DRIVER AND OFFICE ASSISTANT
Job Title : Driver and Office Assistant
Grade : NC7
Reporting to: Assistant Human Resource and Administration Officer.
Location : NICE Secretariat, Lilongwe
Responsible for: None

Purpose of the Job

To drive Trust’s vehicles and serve in office as Office Assistant.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Driving NICE vehicles in safe and punctual manner
  2. Collecting and delivering mail, files and office items as assigned from time to time.
  3. Ensuring that purchased and mileage are properly recorded in the motor vehicle logbook.
  4. Ensuring that all trips undertaken are properly authorised by administration.
  5. Ensuring that vehicle(s) are always clean.
  6. Photocopying and binding of documents
  7. Promptly reporting accidents to the appropriate authorities viii. Attending to visitors and directing them to the right offices

Minimum Education Qualifications and Experience

  1. Malawi School Certificate of Education or its equivalent
  2. Valid professional drivers’ license
  3. Valid defensive driving license
  4. 3 years’ work experience in driving institutional vehicles.
