Project Hope

Project Hope Namibia in Malawi (PHN-MA) seeks qualified Malawian candidate to fill various positions for the USAID funded Ana ndi Achinyamata Patsogolo Activity (ANAPA) Project, a project aimed at preventing new HIV infections and improve the health wellbeing and Protection of Children, Adolescents, their families and Young Women (CAFYW) living with, affected by and vulnerable to HIV. ANAPA will be implemented in high HIV burdened nine districts in Malawi (Blantyre, Chikwawa, Lilongwe, Machinga, Mangochi, Mulanje, Phalombe, Thyolo and Zomba). The program focus on Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM). The approach is also including but not limited to System Strengthening, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) in close collaboration with Government of Malawi (GoM).

District Team Lead (8)

Reports to: Implementation Lead

Duty Station: Blantyre, Chikwawa, Zomba, Phalombe, Mulanje, Thyolo, Machinga, Mangochi.

Job Summary: Reports to Implementation Lead with dotted lines with the OVC and AGYW Technical Leads. S/he will be coordinating and overseeing the implementation of Ana ndi Achinyamata Patsogolo Activity (ANAPA), focusing on ensuring effective program implementation, stakeholder engagement, quality assurance and achieving ANAPA objectives.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead district level work plan development, implementation and ensure its alignment with the District Implementation Plan (DIP)

  • Lead and provide managerial and technical support in implementation of ANAPA in the assigned district,

  • Ensure quality services are provided in line with PEPFAR/USAID and GOM policies, guidelines, and standards.

  • Lead the operations by coordinating and promoting integration (multidisciplinary) approach in implementation of ANAPA.

  • Coordinate and network with stakeholders, partners, and government authorities at district level.

  • Coordinate capacity building activities (supportive supervision, mentoring and CQI)

  • Develop and manage budget and resources for the district on bi-weekly or monthly basis and lead financial and program reporting in close collaboration with program and finance.

  • Maintain high standard of compliance and audit standards. Oversight compliance among staff and set the tone high on compliance to prevent, detect and act on any form of fraud.

Minimum Qualifications, experience and required skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, project management, social sciences, social work, development studies, economics, or a related field. Those with a Master’s Degree will have an added advantage.

  • Prior experience in the management and implementation of USAID funded HIV Prevention and/or OVC Programs.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with the local government structures

  • Knowledge of HIV prevention, behavior change and communication, sexual reproductive health, gender mainstreaming into HV and AIDS programming

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, in HIV programs.

  • Strong leadership, coordination, communication & team management skills.
