Malawi Posts Corporation is a Statutory Corporation established by an Act of Parliament, the Communications Act of 1998. Its mission is to provide easily accessible, reliable, high quality and affordable postal and financial services to meet the customers’ unique needs through a well-
established country and worldwide network.

DIRECTOR E-SERVICES
REPORTING TO: POSTMASTER GENERAL
THE JOB
The Director of e-Services shall report directly to the Postmaster General of Malawi Posts Corporation. He/she shall be responsible for the provision of all electronic services and support to the Corporation eBusiness and ICT departments. In addition, the DeS shall be responsible for the Corporation’s retail and financial services (eBusiness) unit’s business performance. The DeS shall be a full member of the Executive Management. As such, the incumbent shall be expected to participate in
the implementation of the Corporation’s turnaround strategy, specifically the digitalization drive and retail and financial services enhancement. The DeS shall also be responsible for the development, and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures to enhance the Organization’s operational efficiency and revenue growth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Define the directorate’s performance metrics based on the Corporation’s overall objectives, performance objectives, and the directorate’s budget.
ii. Define eBusiness and ICT standards and architectures
iii. Formulating, implementing, and monitoring the Directorate’s budgets iv. Oversee the alignment of E-business and ICT strategies and programs to the Corporation’s overall strategy.
v. Anticipate demand and plan for the supply of appropriate eBusiness services and ICT solutions with insights from internal users and the customer market.
vi. Offer policy guidance affording due cognisance to ethical, legal, and regulatory aspects of the ICT and Financial industries.
vii. Monitor technological innovations and advancement and emerging E-business opportunities and influence future-focused strategy for the Corporation in coordination with the rest of the executive
management team. viii. Coordinate and supervise the eBusiness, and ICT teams, service providers, and contractors per predefined standards and agreements.
ix. Coordinate the eBusiness and ICT team’s capacity-building and growth plans, and ensure provision of suitable staff training.
x. Direct the eBusiness and ICT applications, infrastructure, and business portfolios.
xi. Manage eBusiness, ICT programmes and critical ICT Projects.
xii. Monitor customer insights and market opportunities to provide innovative solutions, and build and maintain an effective and innovative business model following the trends.
xiii. Manage the business unit’s key partnerships to ensure continued mutual benefits.
xiv. Ensure adequate, and customer support for all retail and financial services.
xv. Direct and ensure the responsiveness of data centers, technical service centers, help desks, communications networks (voice and data), and computer systems operations.
xvi. Align ICT risk management with the Government and organization- wide risk management and ensure the Corporation’s compliance with information security policies, standards, and regulations.
xvii. Cooperate with the regulator of Financial Institutions and the Financial Intelligence Authority to ensure legal and regulatory compliance. xviii. Manage and maintain the integrity of all electronic
records of the organization.
xix. Ensure monitoring and maintenance of appropriate internal controls.
xx. Participate in Internal Procurement activities to ensure the purchase of efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software.
xxi. Establish and manage strategic service provider partnerships.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
- The successful candidate must have a Master’s Degree in ICT, Business Administration, Banking or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized institution.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in ICT or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized institution.
- He/she shall have the requisite experience in Electronic Services management.
- Proven experience in Programme/Project Management.
- A minimum of 6 years of work experience at senior management level preferably in a reputable organization.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Sound management and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to operate/manage under strict deadlines
REMUNERATION-PACKAGE
The successful candidates shall be offered a negotiated performance-related contract for three years with an attractive salary, benefits, and gratuity package commensurate with the seniority of the position.
