The Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant posts that exist in the different sectors of Nkhotakota District Council.
JOB TITLE: DENTAL TECHNICIAN
GRADE: K/M9
REPORTING TO: SENIOR DENTAL TECHNICIAN
QUALIFICATION
Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Dentistry/Dental Therapy from accredited institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
DUTIES
1. Carrying out simple surgical extraction of teeth;
2. Scaling, polishing and filling teeth;
3. Prescribing drugs and conducting oral teeth hygiene for patients;
4. Conducting oral preventive dental work programmes in Institutions and health centres;
5. Making artificial teeth and fitting them;
6. Recording data in relevant registers and instruments following HMIS guidelines;
7. Compile and conducts monthly analysis and submit quarterly report to the designated supervisor following HMIS guidelines;
8. Routinely monitor the dental services and take necessary actions to improve the service quality and oral health status of the people;
9. Any other duties deemed reasonable for the post.
