Background

Founded in 1987, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is a global organization providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to over 2 million people in 47 countries. In Malawi, AHF is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health to strengthen access to quality of HlV/AlDS, Tuberculosis (TB) and Sexually Transmitted infections (STl) treatment. The organization provides cutting edge treatment and medical care in some hard-to-reach health facilities located across five districts of Lilongwe, Dedza, Ntcheu, Nsanje and Chikwawa, with plans to expand services to Nkhotakota district in 2025.

FY 2025 expansion also includes the opening of a wellness centre clinic that will be implemented at Biwi health centre in Lilongwe. The wellness clinic will provide Reproductive Health Services,
focusing on sexually transmitted Infections and cervical cancer. The Wellness Clinic project will have an operations research component.

Job Title: Data Clerk/Receptionist (1 position)

Reports to: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Duty Station: Biwi Health Centre-Wellness Centre Clinic

Summary of the Position

The Data Clerk/Receptionist will be the first and last contact person for wellness clinic visits, with good customer care including stigma free services. He/she will be responsible for welcoming clients and guiding them in the services provided at the clinic to ensure that the clients have seamless experience at the clinic. The Data Clerk will record and report essential information for the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and guiding clients needing Wellness Clinic Services.
  • Performs administrative tasks related to data entry (e.g. filing and retrieval of relevant information and capturing of facility data).
  • Record client data for every clinic, including visit details and appointment
  • Follow up sample results for samples sent to labs, within and outside Biwi
  • Generating report at the end of each month, and support clinical officer in compiling the monthly reports
  • Data quality assurance
  • Follow up of partner notifications
  • Record keeping for complicated clients, especially those needing culture and referrals to other institutions
  • Conduct data collection for implementation research study.
  • In collaboration with the Clinical Officer, facilitate regular facility-based review meetings for the project in order to inform facility implementation progress.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in IT/Statistics, Certificate plus relevant 1 year work experience acceptable.
  • Proficiency in MS Access, MS Office, MS Excel and Ms Word
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both English and Vernacular language
  • Good interpersonal skills and customer care services.
