CYBERSECURITY OFFICER

We are looking to employ an experienced and talented Cybersecurity Officer to join our dynamic ICT team.

PURPOSE

As a Cybersecurity Officer at Castel Malawi, the successful will play a key role of managing all cybersecurity and system issues that includes but not limited to strategy design, and implementation, conduct cybersecurity surveillances, identify threats, and organize proper action.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Among other tasks, the Cybersecurity Officer will be required to carry out the following duties:

  • Design and guide implementation of the Cybersecurity strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee IT security operations within Castel Malawi Limited. ■Monitor all IT controlling and supervision platforms to ensure that they are running and are providing realistic information.
  • Coordinates responses to emergencies, alarms and analyze incident reports to identify threats.
  • Defines the continuous improvement processes for systems to help reduction of level of the exigence about the company’s ICT environment security.
  • Analyzes the world’s well-known standards and contextualizes them to suit the Castel Malawi Limited ICT environment.
  • Provide user support to all IT systems, tuning performance of systems and auxiliary equipment, training of users on systems applications.
  • Conduct cybersecurity surveillances to ensure the effectiveness of the security policies and procedures and its application by all stakeholders.
  • Backup and replication management – ensure that systems are protected and replicated to the DR infrastructure. Patch management – ensure that all servers and workstations a patched with the latest updates.
  • Integrates within the IT Department to ensure that all reported problems and requests are responded to within reasonable time.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should at least have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science, or Information Technology. Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Preferably 2 years’ experience in a similar position in busy work environment

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Proven experience on Windows and Linux oriented systems especially those that relate to security.
  • Ability to conduct surveillances and translate the results into usable information.
  • Knowledge of systems administration.
  • Knowledge of some ISO security standards such as ITIL, ISO27001, ISO27002, COBIT.
  • Good interpersonal skills and customer orientation.
