Great Entrepreneurship Club (GEC) established in 2020 with its headquarters in Lilongwe located at Great Dominion Complex (Glory Land) in New Shire Opposite Guliver is a Holding (parent) Company whose vision is “To reach out to future and existing entrepreneurs with modern entrepreneurial skills that will help them start or grow a successful business anywhere in the world. Our mission is “To provide entrepreneurship training, awareness, networking and collaboration to GEC Members as well as act as an intermediary between GEC Members and Lenders of Finance in pursuit of accessing credit such as loans and overdrafts.” Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position tenable at GEC Headquarters.:

 

CREDIT OFFICERS

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Approve loans within specified limits, and refer loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
  • Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process.
  • Analyse applicants’ financial status credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans
  • Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available as well as the terms of those services
  • Obtain and complete copies of loan applicants credit histories, corporate financial statements and other financial information
  • Review and update credit and loan files
  • Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy
  • Compute Payment Schedules
  • Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products in order to better meet customer needs
  • Submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation
  • Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them
  • Work with clients to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans
  • Market GEC products to individuals and firms, promoting GEC services that meet customers’ needs
  • Analyse potential loan markets and develop referral networks in order to locate prospects for loans
  • Prepare reports to send to customers whose accounts are delinquent and forward irreconcilable accounts for collector action
  • Petition courts to transfer title deeds of collateral to banks.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Finance or related field of study from a reputable University
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior management positions in a Microfinance Institution or Bank
  • Experience in credit origination and credit risk assessment in a lending environment coupled with mobilization and delivery channel development.
  • Flexible and resourceful; the ability to work in a fast growing institution
  • A thorough understanding of microfinance performance metrics/indicators and the ability to interpret and process operations data;
