CorpsAfrica has steadily expanded operations from Morocco to Senegal, Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, The Gambia, and Uganda over the last decade. Having successfully proven the power and effectiveness of the model, CorpsAfrica has begun to receive significant funding from large donors. As we reach a point of significant inflection leading to future expansion, we seek to add motivated, capable, and highly effective staff to our team.
Overview of the Position:
The Country Director is a full-time position with the primary responsibility of leading the CorpsAfrica program in Malawi. The successful candidate will have a significant opportunity to build the organization and must have a tolerance for risk and innovation balanced with a steady commitment to mission and strategic focus. He / She will possess a demonstrated passion and commitment to youth leadership, participatory community development, impact evaluation, transparency, and accountability. The Country Director will report directly to the Executive Director of CorpsAfrica.
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time

LOCATION: Malawi
REPORTS TO: Regional Director, Country Offices.
Specific responsibilities:
- Manage and expand CorpsAfrica in Malawi
- Oversee multiple aspects of the operation, including recruitment of the Volunteers, pre- and in- service training programs; assignment of Volunteers to selected sites throughout the country; and supporting Volunteers throughout their service – offering guidance, mentorship, networking opportunities, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations that policies, systems, and procedures are in place for effective and efficient operation
- Be responsible for strong financial oversight and management of budgets
- Develop and manage an office and staff
- Raise funds for CorpsAfrica/Malawi, which involves identifying and cultivating prospective donors, writing proposals, hosting events and extensive networking.
- Represent the organization in public arenas, including local and national media
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with Development Partners, and help them serve as a resource to Volunteers.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least six years of management experience
- Broad financial skills (including experience with budgeting, planning, and accounting) and a knack for staying on top of financial details.
- Excellent speaking and writing skills are required; computer skills are a big plus
- A hands-on management style and the ability to address and solve problems as they arise
- Be diplomatic, of the highest integrity, and possess sound judgment as well as a sense of humor
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in a primary Malawian dialect is important
- A valid driver’s license is required
