VACANCY
The Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Nkhoma Synod Education Department (NSED)
announces an employment opportunity for the position of Coordinator for Basic Education (CBE) to be filled as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
1. Planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating Basic and Inclusive education
activities
2. Supervising teaching, learning and other Basic education activities
3. Facilitating registration of Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centers, Primary and Inclusive
Schools.
4. Maintaining and updating the basic and inclusive Education database and records.
5. Coordinating and facilitating school infrastructure development and face-lifting.
6. Maintaining a high level of discipline amongst students and teachers
7. Ensuring a high level of performance amongst students and teachers
8. Promoting spiritual life for teachers and students
9. Coordinating the development of School Improvement Plans
10. Coordinating and liaising with local and district-level partners, stakeholders and congregations in
education-related matters.
11. Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the Education Secretary.
Requirements and Skills
a. Must be business/development-oriented, resourceful, innovative and mature.
b. Must be able to work in a team with good working relationships with persons of different levels.
c. Must have the ability to cope with situations that demand a high sense of judgment and must be
flexible in accepting work assignments outside normal desk description.
d. Proficient in English and Chichewa, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
e. Must be computer literate
Qualifications
i. Candidates must have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Those with a Master’s degree
in a relevant field and knowledge in inclusive education will have an added advantage
ii. At least 5 years of professional work experience in coordinating education activities
iii. Practising Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Nkhoma Synod Christian.
